CRISIL has assigned its 'AAA/Stable' rating to the Rs 60 billion Infrastructure Bond Issue of Axis Bank. CRISIL has also reaffirmed its ratings on the certificates of deposit of Axis Bank. The ratings reflect Axis Bank's robust capitalisation, healthy resource profile, and strong earnings profile backed by high fee income. The bank's asset quality performance, however, remains sensitive to stress in the corporate sector.
CRISIL believes that Axis Bank will continue to maintain its robust capital position and healthy resource profile. The bank is also expected to sustain its healthy earnings profile over the medium term. The outlook may be revised to 'Negative' if the bank witnesses a significant and sustained deterioration in its asset quality and earnings.
Shares of the bank gained Rs 10.65, or 2.76%, to settle at Rs 397.10. The total volume of shares traded was 1,251,117 at the BSE (Tuesday).
